Several years ago 300 whales suddenly found themselves marooned in a bay,
beached at low tide. It seems that the whales were pursuing sardines and
became trapped. The small fish lured the sea giants to their death.....They
came to their demise by chasing small ends, by prostituting vast powers for
insignificant goals.
So it goes with most of us we "major in the minors" spend our lives chasing
sardines. Social Security records show that most Americans who retire at age
65 cannot write a check for $200. After working for most of their lives most
of us retire dead or dead broke.
What we accomplish in life is not based on what we want, but how much we want
it. The future belongs to the discontented; your dreams will become reality
when you keep your commitment to them. Ask yourself this question: does a
person make the dream? (or) Does the dream make the person? The answer is;
both are equally true and essential.
To be or not to be is the question. Until that is answered, our will to win
is on hold.
What do you really want to do? Have you decided to do it against all odds and
whatever it takes? This could be anything from loosing weight to succeeding
in business. The more definite your direction the greater your will power.
Direction comes from having goals and a definite set of plans, attack to run
on. An undecided person cannot tap into the strength of his will.
